Environment's Day
On such a day we went down to the community and gave a hand in maintaining the surroundings. Its such a fortune in a billion blessings we have fallen to have a clean place to stay at, lets try to preserve it clean and healthy.
science stipulates facts about the ravages of climate change, some have dismissed it as a hoax. Moments like these calls for a collective and concerted to merge efforts and reclaim a safe and clean environment.
On 5th June, 2023, the world came together to mark the International Environment Day and reaffirmed its commitment on making the environment safe for future generations. We, Busano Community Initiative, set out in determination to give it our best and stand together with those called to the cause of community of service.
With a group of 15 enthusiastic young men and women, gathered and did our part in cleaning the trading center in our locality which inhabits over hundreds of compassionate citizens. We collected all forms of polythene bags and swept every corner of the area clean and we shared with community members the dangers of not protecting the environment and offered solutions.
The community received the gesture with beaming happiness and applauded the work well done. It was a moment we seized and echoed the words of Martin Luther King, “If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures…. Sweep streets so well that all hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say: Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.”
